This place used to be the gold standard of pakington street breakfast/lunch however I would wager a bet its changed hands since I've been about 2 years ago. The service was great and the staff attentive and friendly. The food however was lacking in attention to detail - the toast on my dish was burnt and the dish itself was experimental but not well executed - warmed frozen blueberries on a savoury breakfast didn't really work. My company had fried eggs which had burnt black bits on the bottom - pretty rough for $16. The adjacent cafe has eggs on toast $3 cheaper, but I was keen to visit Winters as it used to be worth the price. Hopefully the food will improve to its former glory!
I had disappointing experience at this cafe. staff not overly friendly. just seemed keen to feed us and get us out the door as quick as possible. no chicken dishes on menu available except burger as they'd run out of food on Fri lunch. they basically kicked us out at 2:20pm, which was not ideal as we only got there at 1:20pm. other cafes in area all stay open longer. beer in fridge but not on menu which is odd. burgers good. falafel bowl ok, but only two falafel so wasn't overly substantial. the calamari was reconstituted seafood and very average. best to avoid this dish if they can't provide proper food. won't return.
I recently visited Winterโs Cafรฉ in Geelong and absolutely loved it. The atmosphere is warm, stylish, and welcoming โ perfect for breakfast, brunch, or a relaxed coffee catch-up, or a big party or Christmas lunch. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience feel easy and enjoyable. The food was fresh and full of flavour, with generous portions and great presentation. The coffee was top-notch too โ smooth, rich, and clearly made with care. You can tell they put effort into every detail, from the menu to the service. Overall, Winterโs Cafรฉ is definitely one of the best spots in Geelong. Highly recommended for anyone looking for quality food, great coffee, and a comfortable vibe. Iโll definitely be back!
If you've ever lived in Geelong you know Winter's cafe. It's pretty hard to compete with this place. It's clean, well decorated, cozy and the upstairs room has a cute view of the rooftops. My only slightly negative comment was that the crispy chicken burger was too sweet, for me anyway. I usually love sweet and savoury together but this was close to being a confectionery. Avo smash was great, really fresh and who doesn't love a classic? Servers were run off their feet today. I really do have to commend them on their ability to be so polite and friendly when they're under so much pressure. It's honestly a lot harder to achieve than people realise.
The coffee was well made & was from Code Blackโ๏ธ & the teas ๐ซ are from Calmer Sutraโฆ The food arrived, both were a good size portion & presented cleanly. Two nice generously sliced & coloured pieces of toast from a Bakery. Soft scrambled eggs & plenty of sautรฉed mushroom with herb garnish & 2 golden crunchy hash brown triangles. Plain but done well. My Benedict looked enormous, colourful & I was eager to jump in. Moist pulled pork with the combo of corn, black beans, potatoes and onion was intriguingly different but enjoyable (it needed a little salt), the eggs were perfectly poached & the chipotle mayo & corn-chip crumb added interest. Yum ๐ All up, the service was professional and the food was enjoyable.
