Quiet spot in the alley of Hardware Lane. Know that the Toasties are great. The chicken avocado one had crunch and was delicious. Awesome spot for brekkie and takeout. Unfortunately though if you're looking to have a sit-down, you're not going to have much space, not many chairs and tables. But it's an awesome spot to grab a takeout before work.

Cute little outdoor cafe in a hidden courtyard. Food and drinks served from a trailer, with outdoor seating and heaters. Indoor toilets are available.

Salty Sparrow Cafe Ballarat Its charming hidden gem tucked away in a quiet laneway. It’s loved for its excellent coffee, rich Belgian hot chocolate, and freshly made toasties — especially the Spicy Reuben. Their baked goods, like croissants, brownies, and scones, are also top-notch. The cafe has a cozy courtyard setting with a warm, welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff who make the experience even better. Though the space is small and prices are a bit on the premium side, the quality and attention to detail make it worth it. A perfect spot for a relaxed coffee break or a peaceful brunch in Ballarat. Nice little corner cafe, love the ambience. Only bought coffee and it was good. Staff were friendly and all smiles. Lots of seating as well. Nice place to take those IG worthy photos.

Think it’s super cute!! The toastie was okay… wouldn’t rush back for it. Coffee was good! Wouldn’t mind going back to try the hot chocs which were more than just a normal hot choc. They also had some awesome sweets I’ll try next time 👌💓
