I understand that mistakes can happen, but situations like this really need more care and attention, especially when it comes to handling money. Today, the cashier made an error when charging and giving me change. If I hadn’t checked carefully or if I hadn’t paid in cash, I wouldn’t have noticed the mistake at all. I am a regular customer at this café because I study in this building and come here almost every day. Normally, an iced chocolate costs $6.50 for a medium and $7.50 for a large. Adding almond milk is an extra $1, so the correct total should be $7.50 for a medium or $8.50 for a large. However, I was charged $9.50. I paid with a $20 note and received $10.50 in change, which means $2 was missing. I politely asked the staff member to double-check the price and explained the calculation. Another staff member was present and aware of the situation as well. I’m not trying to cause any trouble or damage the reputation of the café. I’m only sharing this because I believe it’s very important for staff to be properly trained in pricing and cash handling. If mistakes like this happen to many customers, it could lead to significant issues. When something is incorrect, it should be acknowledged and corrected. I hope the café can improve this area going forward.
I've reviewed this place before but I literally cannot rave about it enough. They have, by far, Adelaide's BEST chai, and that is coming from someone that has been to whole lot of cafés to try a whole lot of chai. It's nice and strong and spicy without having the overly powerful cardamom flavour that some mixes have. Plus, their serving sizes are SO generous, and their ice ratios are perfect - enough to keep your drink cold, but not so much that you only get 2 sips of drink. Their prices are better than most similar cafés in the area! I also love getting their butter croissants and especially the pain au chocolate - their croissant dough is so crisp and flakey on the outside and layered perfectly on the inside. Plus their pastries are ~$6.50 and under! This is now my regular spot, the workers here are SO friendly and welcoming which is amazing in the morning especially when it's gloomy outside.
I just bought coffee with my girlfriend before going to work. The latte was really amazing! The two young ladies who worked there were also very friendly. Highly recommended!
I only had a coffee but it was well made and the two women were very friendly. Note, new owners! It’s called The Coffee Nook now. It’s no longer the Kev spot. Incase that matters to you. It’s good coffee still
Little window ready to take your orders for coffee and pastries. Quick and easy, grilled croissants and toasties are the best for the cold winter. Get in early because there usually sold out and nothing left by 2pm. No dine in seating, takeaway only.
