We visited Tesoro last night to treat ourselves to a nice dinner, and the food was excellent. The waiting staff were polite and attentive, and we were genuinely enjoying our evening. Unfortunately, the experience was let down towards the end of our meal. While we were still having dessert, a staff member (who appeared to be handling payments at the desk) repeatedly stared at us from a distance. This made us feel very uncomfortable and gave us the impression that were being rushed at pay and leave, even though we had not finished our meal. when we walked up to the counter to pay, he continued staring and no check-in to ask how our food was or whether everything was okay, which felt disappointing for a fine dining restaurant, he simply pointed at the bill with his finger, which had already been printed. The only words spoken were a very cold "credit or debit card"? When my friend said she would be paying with prepaid gift card, the interaction became even more awkward. There was visible discomfort, no reassurance and no basic courtesy throughout the process. There was no "thank you" or acknowledgement at the end and we left feeling judged, rushed and look down on. We came in happy and relaxed but left feeling quite upset which overshadowed what had otherwise been a lovely meal. As a guests, how you are made to feel at the end of the experience matters just as much as food itself. I hope this feedback helps improve consistency in service and guest experience. P.S. I would like to add the waiting staff were genuinely polite and accommodating. We were seated as we walk-in. This feedback is only regarding the experience.
This place really surprised us as a hotel restaurant! The food was quick and high-quality and we didnโt have to wait long for anything. Excellent small plates and good breakfast.
We were staying at Movenpick Hotel and thought the menu looks good so decided to pop in for dinner on our second night. Started with the cured kingfish crudo which tasted fresh and a real palate cleanser. Followed by two pastas, the braised beef pappardelle, and pork & fennel sausage. The latter is very tasty and the best of the two, although itโs just a tad oily. We finished off with the tiramisu and a couple of cocktails. Service is attentive and space is cosy.
Excellent restaurant attached to the Mรถvenpick Hotel in Hobart. Range of options available. The pizzas are excellent. Italian inspired cuisine. We had a pasta and fish option for mains. The desserts are also delicious. Cheesecake and Tiramisu. Bar onsite for drinks.
Long one as weโd had breakfast and dinner. Breakfast: Decent value as you get good quality options. Quality fruits, cereal and muesli, fresh juice, decent baked sweets, quality bread and the warm breakfast was well made. Please refer to photos. Dinner, there were hits and miss. Mostly hits. Oysters were fabulous fresh. We couldnโt stopโฆ - Smoked buffalo mozzarella was lovely starter, goes nicely with charred sourdough. - roasted root vegetables with stracciatella was nicely balanced with the fragrant lemon oil - 15 hour low cooked glazed short ribโฆ this was a let down, there is no grill or char flavour in the finishing, all you get is a heavily wines soaked beef that is rather bland. What a waste. - the cannoli with vanilla ricotta was a nice sweet finishing, Iโd recommend the pistachio, or you can try chocolate crisps too. Both Cannolis were nice. I would say this has potential to reach 5 starsโฆ
