i took my partner here when he was visiting australia, and we both had a great time at smoque brasserie ! the interior and exterior design was beautiful and made for a perfect setting for a great meal. guys the riverine short ribs with parisian mash.. SOOO good. so tender with a good amount of fatty parts, with a delicious sauce and mash that paired with it so well. this was one of THE combos of all time and a must try if youโre here ! i also loved their salmon avocado, lovely marinade and both the salmon and avocado were super fresh, which helped cut through the heaviness of the mains ๐ just look at how big that mushroom risotto is! (i may have accidentally spilt a lot of water in the risotto but donโt worry. i poured it all out. the only thing lost was my dignity.) the stars of the meal were lowkey the desserts, literally completely stole the mainsโ thunder with how spectacular they were. that earl grey crรจme brulee?? i love my partner but lowkey i did not want to share. same with the pina colada, which was oh so flaky and creamy ! wouldโve loved a bit more ice cream on there tho overall, a great meal, and chatswood is a lovely place to walk around after dinner too, so i definitely recommend checking out smoque brasserie ! โ ๐ฝ๏ธ what we got ๐ฝ๏ธ - Mushroom Risotto (28) - Riverine Short Ribs (55) with Parisian Mash (5) - Salmon Tartare (28) - French Earl Grey Crรจme Brulee (15) - Pina Colada (16)
Recently discovered Smoque Brasserie, a French brasserie in Chatswood offering classic, simple French dishes. The ambience was super vibey โ you can relax outdoors while enjoying a cocktail or mocktail, which really adds to the experience. We ordered the escargots, which were rich in garlic butter and perfect for soaking up with the baguette. The beef tartare was enjoyable, though slightly on the salty side for my taste. The standout dish for me was the squid ink pasta with king prawns โ the prawns had a lovely smoky flavour. We also tried the beef short ribs, which were incredibly tender and fell straight off the bone.
Really enjoyed our meal here! Everything was so well executed and full of flavour. The beef tartare and escargot were standouts, and the mains were cooked beautifully. Finished with a earl grey creme brulee that was spot on. Would happily come back! ๐คฉ
Love the relaxing outdoor vibe (but still covered on the shade too). The Escargots were cooked nicely with really good garlic sauce. The Beef Tartare was delicious too.. I really enjoyed the Mussels Pot in White Wine Sauce. Love the French Earl Grey Creme Brulee so much!! They have cocktails/mocktails and extensive wine list. Perfect spot for pre-theatre meal, catching up with friends/family, or celebrating special occasions. Excellent service.
The atmosphere at this French bistro is quite nice, and itโs easy to find since itโs right next to the concert hall. It was busy over the weekend, but we didnโt really have to wait. The dishes we ordered werenโt amazing, but they were decent. Several of the mains came with potatoes as the side, which felt a bit repetitive. The tiramisu for dessert was pretty good though.
