Lovely and yummy dishes. We got to try the scallop pie - yum! Their pancakes were a dream come true for my little girl - it had all her favourites in there - fairy floss and ice cream. It's quite in front of waterfront so had a nice view.
The five star goes to the staff who cleaned our table, she was super friendly. And also to the staff who brought the food out. Both ladies were so helpful and cheery. The location is great, being so close to the waterfront, where all the action is happening. We had a great spot outside, facing the street. It was great. The hot chocolate was very weak, it needed more chocolate. Our beef wagyu burger was so dry and overcooked. Even the content in the burger just tasted so bland. The scallops with caramelised onions salad is not good. The scallops were sandy and overcooked. The whole combination of green salad, caramelised brown onion and pureed peas doesn't taste good and definitely not appetising to look at. The only good thing on the plate is the crunchy prosciutto. Even the fried crunchy sweet potato doesn't go well. By the time you serve it, it was already soaked in the caramelised onions hence it became soggy, so in short, it didn't elevate the dish. Scallops works best with white creams or just leave it as it is, grilled briefly and toss in salad with lemon and olive oil dressings would be better. Quite disappointing since we have been traveling Tasmania all the way from WA, and this was our last stop. We didn't expect to receive this at all. We found the smallest and simplest cafes all the way from Lilydale, Scamander, Swansea, Longford, Ross etc yet they all served fabtastic Tasmanian produce. And this cafe is in Hobart, right in front of the water. Definitely not recommending this place.
Coffee was nice, one of the better in the area. it did take a bit longer than expected to get the order. Alhough we didnt eat, the food looked really nice. I dont recommend sitting outside as you are right on the roadway with cars coming directly at you or parking and idling next to where you sit
Had their โpopularโ big bkfast & mushrooms tasted weird, sausages were double fried, for the hash brown you can taste (only) the oil they use. Definitely do not order this when youโre here. Youโre better off getting food from the markets if itโs on!
We came here for a special birthday breakfast and were left extremely disappointed. The quality of both the food and coffee was shockingly poor โ nowhere near what it used to be under the previous owners. Our fried eggs were completely overcooked, and the โmaple syrupโ was just cheap imitation. To make matters worse, the savoury pancakes were dry and covered in an overly sweet chocolate sauce, including the fruit โ an absolute mismatch of flavours. Our meals arrived cold, and even the coffees were cold and had to be replaced. For over $150, we expected a decent experience, but instead we were served a sub-standard, poorly thought-out breakfast that felt like a waste of time and money. The saddest part is that this was meant to be a special celebration, and it was ruined by careless food and inflated prices. Do not go here. If youโre after a good breakfast, literally anywhere else will be a better choice. A truly disappointing visit to what used to be a wonderful spot.
