First time to Tasmania and Launceston. We thought we probably would find an average cafe eat and go on our road trip. We stumbled upon Mondello as it was near our accommodation. My wife wasn’t hungry so we thought we would share A basic bacon +poached eggs on toast with avo n jam. We were brought 2 plates perfectly presented and portioned breakfastses. Sry we asked the waiter we only ordered one breakfast- yes she smiled the chef split it into 2 portions - wow ! No cafe that I’ve been to has done that!! I’ve been to a lot of cafes ( being an old fella) eggs , bacon and toast and coffee perfectly cooked and presented. There was a delay in the coffees so they gave us the coffees(x2) for free! The bread and muffins were homemade by the chef - yummy Other cafe owners might want to visit and try this little unassuming cafe in Launceston. Definitely to a high standard of food service!! I would visit Tasmania again just to come back to this little cafe in Launceston ☕️!!👌

I would like to thank the cafe Mondello team very much for their assistance. I, being in my coffee depreciated state managed to forget my wallet when ordering a takeaway on Thursday morning. After realising I didn’t have it somewhere between Launceston and Hobart my partner spoke to the team who were able to assist in returning the wallet express post and beating me home on Friday to the Sunshine Coast. Great coffee, great staff and great outcome thank you, from this forgetful traveller :)

Nice cafe Service is friendly and efficient, I ordered Bacon and poached eggs on toast with a small latte all which were fantastic 😍 the atmosphere is casual and relaxed with indoor and outdoor eating. I recommend going to mondello cafe.

Great food and friendly and attentive service. We have been going to Mondello for a three years now. It has become our favourite stop over for lunch when in Launceston. Great food, the staff is always attentive and friendly. Denis has taken over the business and has maintained the reputation of the cafe as a go to place.
