Have not been here for many years and decided to try it again as we left from being disappointed before. Coffee was good when we asked for the honey that was supposed to be added, the meals came out, the bircher was great, the eggs, well, I am not sure why this is a thing now at some restaurants, but if I wanted to put salt on my eggs, I would do it when it came, I did not want to have it layered over the eggs so all I get is nothing but salt taste. Waste of a breakfast, Anyway, that's the test, we wont be there again, off to another old haunt next sunday.

Nice place, good tea and coffee, delicious food, friendly people.And we ee lucky to have good live music.

Terrible service – do not visit We stopped at Breaks Cafe in Fremantle for a morning coffee on Sunday, 4 January. We were a group of four and ordered two cappuccinos and two milkshakes. When we sat down, the table was dirty and remained uncleaned for almost 10 minutes. After ordering, we waited a further 30 minutes for our drinks. When we politely enquired about them, I was rudely told, “Do I know that coffee needs to be made?” The tone and attitude of the staff member were completely unacceptable. Her behaviour was aggressive, dismissive, and carried strong undertones of racism. When I decided to leave early due to the situation, she shouted sarcastic remarks after me, seemingly trying to provoke an argument. I chose to remain calm and ignore her. What a shame, as this incident was the only blemish on an otherwise wonderful visit to Fremantle. Unfortunately, because of this experience, I cannot recommend Breaks Cafe. Poor service, poor attitude, and disappointing coffee. Do not visit.

We go almost every weekend as a treat and have tried many dishes over time — both dining in and taking away. The food is always fresh and home-cooked with great care. The salads are crisp and vibrant, and I genuinely feel healthy eating them. The team are happy to adapt dishes too — adding avocado or an extra egg, for example — which makes it feel so personal. Some of our favourites include the Thai beef salad, prawn salad, and blue cheese and walnut salad. My son adores the Thai green curry — we have it virtually every week! The burgers are also fantastic: the steak burger, chilli burger, moo burger, the lot burger, Lebanese chicken burger, and halloumi burger are all excellent. Even the simple poached eggs on toast are perfect — once we even ordered them as takeaway for my very fussy child, and they were carefully wrapped and packed with real care. They quality is consistently good eat in or take away. The service is exceptional — warm, friendly, and genuine. You can tell they truly care about their customers. We love Breaks and couldn’t recommend it more highly!

This is my go to place for breakfast when I have a meal break in Fremantle. Eggs Benny with Bacon and a large coffee. The food is excellent, and the coffee is great too!!! The bonus, when you order a mug, they provide a long teaspoon (it’s the little things….). The staff are always friendly.
