Unfortunately I have to write a negative review for this establishment. The quality of the food was good and the service was good but is was just too expensive for what we had. My husband and I went there for breakfast one morning last week and basically was really shocked when we received our bill. He had an omelette and I had the avocado on sour dough. My husband had an orange juice and I ordered a pot of hot water. Our bill was $91 for breakfast. I was so suprised by this. We can only assume it was the price of the sides that boosted the amount, as we had 3 sides added to our food. We went out for dinner Friday night and had fish with a glass of wine and a stubby of beer at a different waterfront venue. The bill was $73. Eggs and avocado v fish and alcohol. Unfortunately I won't be returning to Berta.
Visited for breakfast based on a recommendation from Coffee Darling, did not disappoint. Spectacular food, prompt service. Ate the Turkish Eggs and would order again
I happened to swing into this place on a whim. Firstly, this has to be the best coffee in Hobart. They somehow aerated it and did some sort of special magic to make my long black taste like a Thursday lunchtime cocktail. So much so that my partner and I had to pause and cheers. I was more annoyed that it was my last coffee of the dayโotherwise, I would have had two. I had the tuna salad, and to say that it matched the weather would be an understatementโit was a taste of summer. The tuna was seared perfectly, and the dressing was light without being too oily. The arrangement of the potatoes, radish, and semi-sun-dried tomatoes was just divine. I'd love to give a review on the pasta, but my partner inhaled it. Between mouthfuls, mumbling delicious. The wait staff were friendly and informed me that the menu changes with the seasons. I think this is rare in restaurants, and Iโm already looking forward to winter. Another added benefit is that the meals are priced within the same range, making decisions either easier or more challengingโI haven't decided yet Highly recommend!
This is my new favourite spot for breakfast and lunch when visiting Hobart! Staff members are friendly and accommodating at all times. Food is amazing, we came during the weekend and had two of the specials: steak and waffles and also tried the fish toast. Everything was well-served, cooked and seasoned to perfection and absolutely delicious! We came again during the week to enjoy some of the lunch options as well: chicken burger, fries, salad sandwich and gnocchi and they didnโt disappoint! Coffee was great too, specially the salted caramel honeycomb latte. 10/10, will be definitely coming back!
Had lunch and coffee here, overall we had a great experience! The food was delicious done simple and well! Full of flavour and tasted fresh! The coffees and juices where 10/10! Iced coffees where perfect and the mocha was delicious! The juice shot also was great and full of flavour and tasted nice and fresh! The venue is gorgeous and provides a beautiful spot for lunch and coffee! Overall I canโt really complain about anything other than the staff where friendly but where a little bit odd but they still where nice! Overall I have to give Berta a solid 5/5 stars and i will be returning here again soon!
